The Railway Museum

Situated near the E-11 sector the Golra Railway station hosts a Pakistan Railway history museum which contains old locomotives, diesel electric rail cars and other old railways related equipment. A definite treat to watch for the enthusiast. (Best time to visit is in the evening).

A wheat crop some where in the village

Now this is some thing which I believe is only found in the Indo-Pak subcontinent. We call it "Bhens".. I believe they come close to Buffalo but not exactly like them..

The tomb stone of our great great great.......... grand father..

The Margallas

A panoramic view from the Margalllah mountains near Islamabad. You can see the sprawling city in the back ground and partially the road that leads up.

This winding road starts from the Islamabad Zoo and zig zags its way up to the popular Monal Restaurant, the point previously remembered as Gokina. The road doesn't end there. There are lots of places to explore. You could take a small detour into a mountainous village or follow the main road up to Pir Sohawa, and it doesn't end there....

Banyon shade, found on the way to Monal. Don't know why it was named as such but its a nice place for a picnic.

Itwar Bazar (Flea Market) in Islamabad

The flea market is neatly organized into walk ways surrounded by stalls on both sides.

There are stalls ranging from fruit, vegetables, clothes, 2nd hand to electronic goods and toys.

A "Paranda" stall. Parandas are colorful extensions that women can add on to their hair. Normally worn on festive occasions & marriages. The Parandas are very much uses in the rural areas but their usage has gradually decreased in urban. I actually bought one of these from here for a marriage.

Yummy Pine Apple..... My personal favourite

The fruit stall from where I usually buy my fruit....

Guavas................

And a boat load of Oranges....................
